A discretization method for the characterization of a plate heat exchanger working as evaporator during transient conditions

In this work, a method for the characterization of plate heat exchanger working as evaporator is presented. It based on one-dimensional discretization exchanger, which solves transfer balance equations by means an iterative methodology area converging method. The inputs are flow rates fluids, inlet enthalpy refrigerant, superheating, and temperature pressure secondary fluid. Once refrigerant assumed, drop calculated in each cell then enthalpy. consideration proper coefficient (HTC) correlations allows calculation area, after compared to actual one. has been validated database 366 experimental data obtained eight exchangers evaporators using six different refrigerants, namely R134a, R1234yf, R513A, R744, R290, R507A.
